Movie Review: Moana (PG)
Disney's latest animated film Moana is a must-watch
Forget Prince Charming and think girl power.
Polynesian teenager Moana (voiced by Auli'i Cravalho), daughter of a Motunui chieftain, has an identity crisis as she struggles to balance passion and duty - a challenge that almost anyone can relate to.
Moana, the latest addition to Disney's slew of stories about empowered female heroines, delivers a contemporary musical adventure based on fictional folkloric cultures. Here, Moana leaves her family and village to save her home from looming extinction, despite being forbidden to venture beyond the reef.
Expect to shed tears as Moana goes on a journey to find herself. But don't discard the laughter that Demigod Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) brings to the table.
There's no age limit. You just have to watch it.
Verdict: 4/5
