What Comic-Con 2016 revealed
The 2016 annual San Diego Comic-Con was held between July 21 and July 24 , at the San Diego Convention Centre.
A select group of actors from all over the world gathered to discuss fresh projects and movies with their fans.
Here's the biggest news from the four-day event:
New Shows and Movies to Look Forward To
The friendly rivalry between Marvel and DC was taken to a whole new level as each company released jaw-dropping news, starting with big announcements on who's acting what.
Tony Revolori has been confirmed as Flash Thompson in the upcoming Spiderman: Homecoming which is set to be released on July 7 next year.
His role was released in a clip that was shown at the panel, although the film is only 10 days into shooting.
There was also fresh news from James Gunn, director of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 2, who announced that Elizabeth Debicki would play the celestial being Kismet and Kurt Russell would play Star Lord's father.

The movie is due for release in the US on April 25 next year.
As for Captain Marvel, Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson has been confirmed as Carol Danvers. The movie will be released on July 6 2018.
Marvel has also announced that it will be releasing three Netflix original shows: The Defenders, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist .
As for DC, Tyler Hoechlin and Chris Wood will also join season 2 of CW's Supergirl . The TV show did not get renewed for a second season by CBS, but was fortunately picked up by The CW, where the superhero will fight alongside Arrow and The Flash . Arrow has casted Joe Dinicol as Ragman. Season 5 will premiere on Oct 5 and trailers for both Justice League and Wonder Woman were released as well .
In other news, Star Trek recently turned 50 and has given a name to its fresh series - Star Trek Discovery - which is releasing on CBS next January.
The trailer for American Gods - a book-to-television adaptation by acclaimed author Neil Gaiman - has also been released, starring Ricky Whittle and Ian McShane.
The trailers of a few other movies were also played: King Kong: Skull Island, King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword and Nickelodeon's Legends of The Hidden Temple.
Rihanna also made a surprise announcement, via a recorded message, that she would be joining Bates Motel's new season .
Shows That Aren't Returning For A Following Season
With good news comes some bad news as well.
Teen Wolf will be ending after its upcoming Season 6.
Tyler Posey, who plays Scott McCall, told Entertainment Weekly: "There's nothing negative about all this. I'm really happy. I'm going to cry my eyes out [at the end]. And it's going to be an ugly cry too."

The Vampire Diaries will also be ending its series after Season 8 while both Orphan Black and Bates Motel will both not go beyond their fifth seasons.
Highlights Of The Day
All in all, the San Diego Comic-Con proved to be a hugely entertaining affair, not only for the fans but also for the stars as well.
Eddie Redmayne, who is going to be acting in the Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, spent his time handing out magic wands to screaming fans.

For all Game of Thrones fans, the convention outdid itself by allowing visitors to look at the Game Of Thrones Hall of Faces, alongside other props in the show .
Fans were able to see their faces alongside those of Robb Stark and Tyrion Lannister, leaving them completely awed and mind-boggled.
