Yuna premieres Crush video featuring Usher
East meets west in the latest music video from Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna, for her latest single Crush, featuring US singer Usher.
Yuna and Usher first met back in 2014, but no plans for a collaboration were made between the two.
In an interview with Malaysian radio station Hitz FM in October 2015, Yuna said: "We sent (the song) over to him and didn't hear anything back for two months... and then I got an e-mail from his team and it was a recording of him on the song. All mixed, all done."
The duet has been well-received.
This week (April 25), Crush is number 18 on Billboard's Adult R&B songs chart. It is also one of the most played singles on the Urban Adult Contemporary radio in Los Angeles, according to Universal Music.
Crush also charted at number 4 on the Singapore iTunes store the day it was released (February 26) , and peaked at number 1 on music news website Music Weekly's Top 30 Singles chart for Malaysia, all within its first week .
The music video was directed by Daniel Carberry, who has worked with artists like singer Skylar Grey and alternative band The Summer Set.
