Melissa Poh, 16, is a big fan of K-pop and will dance around her room copying moves from her favourite girl group choreography.

“I don’t take any formal dancing lessons, but I like to just dance in front of my mirror for fun. I feel dancing is a great form of exercise and also a good way me to relieve stress,” she said.

Although Melissa, a student at Bedok Green Secondary School, has never modelled before, she hopes to be able to showcase designers’ thoughts and feelings through her modelling.

She added: “I feel that modelling would be an awesome career because I’ll be able to wear clothes from the latest collections and I might have a chance to work with my favourite designers.”

Melissa looks up to her cousin, Nicolle Lim, a finalist in The New Paper New Face 2014.

“I think she is an amazing person, and she has always set a good example for me. I’ve always aspired to be like her,” she said.
