Local group fails to win, but impresses judges with their determination
Local tap dance group Dance Thrilogy failed to finish in the top three of the first edition of Asia’s Got Talent on Thursday (May 14).
The group was among the nine acts that made it to the finals of the talent competition.
The crowd at the Marina Bay Sands MasterCard Theatres was treated to a variety of acts.
El Gamma Penumbra, a shadow play dance group from the Philippines, came out on top.
They walked away with the prize of US$100,000 (S$130,000).

Exceptional fight
Though Dance Thrilogy did not win, the girls put up an exceptional fight and were gracious in defeat.
They said "the winner really deserves it".
The 11-member all-girl group consists of students aged nine to 13.
For their final performance, they delivered an enthusiastic routine to We’re In The Money from the musical 42nd Street.
"We feel very proud to be the only Singaporean act," said Isabelle Lim, 11, a member of Dance Thrilogy.
Jayda Lum, nine, said: "We tried very hard to make our country proud."
'An amazing job'
Melanie C, one of the four judges said: "(Dance Thrilogy was) one of my favourites. I think it’s so wonderful to see them come this far.
"The standard at their age is incredible. (The judges and I) were all very impressed by their determination, how hard they worked, their discipline, and they were absolutely brilliant."
David Foster, another judge, added: "And they’re also fearless. They come up to you and talk like they’re adults, but they’re just (so young). I commended their parents one time and said they did an amazing job (with their kids).
"These girls are on a mission, whether as a group or whatever they’re going to do in their life."
The second prize went to Khusugtun, a music ensemble from Mongolia, while the third prize went to Gerphil Flores, 24, a singer from the Philippines.
