Putting the more in Gilmore Girls
3 things we want most from the Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix
To its legions of fans, including this reporter, the Gilmore Girls revival is the television event of the decade.
Since its seventh season ended in 2007, the show has left a doughnut-size hole in the hearts of its viewers.
In fact, fans have been left wanting since 2006, when creator Amy Sherman-Palladinoleft Gilmore Girls due to conflicts with network The CW, leaving the show's final season lacking her quirky touch.
Thank goodness for Netflix for bringing the series back to life.
Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life reunites mother-and-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore (Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel), Lorelai's mother Emily (Kelly Bishop), and beloved supporting characters such as chef Sookie (Melissa McCarthy).
The four 90-minute episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life - titled Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall - will be released on Netflix on Friday.
Here is what we are looking forward to most as we return to Stars Hollow.
1 GIRLS TALKING FAST
There's a reason "Life's short. Talk fast" is the show's tagline.
The rapid-fire dialogue of Gilmore Girls has always been one of the most entertaining aspects of the show, as characters discuss everything from favourite flavours of wedding cake to the perils of having no clean underwear because it is laundry day.
And considering Lorelai and Rory's coffee addiction, they are even more prone to caffeine-fuelled rants and raves, which can be impossible to follow without subtitles.
As Lorelai once said, "You know my babbling capabilities are infinite."
The trailers for the new season have the leading ladies chatting about US comedian Amy Schumer, Batfleck and yes - a lack of underwear.
Apparently, some things don't change.
2 BOYS, BOYS, BOYS
Rory had an enviable love life, with a string of gorgeous boyfriends worshipping at her feet.
Every Gilmore Girls fan has a favourite Rory boyfriend: the sturdy and reliable Dean (Jared Padalecki), romantic rebel Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) and high-achiever Logan (Matt Czuchry).
All three have been confirmed to appear in the revival, and the question is obviously which one she will choose to be with.
Season Seven saw Rory reject Logan's proposal of marriage to relish her single status, so will she take up with him again or go back to one of her other old flames?
Whichever man she ends up with (or not), we are throwing our lot in with Jess.
The bad-boy poet is the stuff of teenage dreams, and even though he once caused Rory to fracture her wrist in a car accident, his street urchin appeal and ability to quote Charles Dickens still make us swoon.
3 FAMOUS LAST WORDS
Sherman-Palladino has long teased fans that she planned to end Gilmore Girls with four precise words.
The show's final four words have become the stuff of legend, since Sherman-Palladino was unable to use them in its seventh season.
Gilmore Girls has always felt incomplete without its creator's intended parting gift to fans, but A Year In The Life will finally reveal the hallowed last words.
The colourful Sherman-Palladino has been known to write really off-beat dialogue, creating wacky expressions such as "Oy with the poodles already" and "You've been Gilmored".
Whatever the show's parting words are, we are pretty sure they will pop up on coffee mugs, T-shirts and become countless Internet memes.
