Train To Busan speeds to $5 million mark
More than a month since Korean zombie blockbuster Train To Busan premiered here, it has finally hit the $5 million mark and remained the top grossing Asian movie this year in Singapore.
The movie, directed by Yeon Sang Ho and starring Gong Yoo, Jung Yu Mi and Ma Dong Seok, overtook Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Chow's fantasy comedy The Mermaid, which opened here in February and earned $4.35 million.
So is a sequel in the works? (Spoiler alert.) Gong, 37, dropped a hint in an interview with Korean newspaper Sports Chosun.
"I talked about this with director Yeon Sang Ho and I said that I thought my character Seok Woo might be living somewhere as a zombie," he said.
"But director Yeon said that when Seok Woo fell off the train, he broke his neck and died."
