AIG launches road safety programme to teach kids road safety
Young kids turned into car drivers on Monday at the launch of the AIG Road Safety Programme on Monday.
Aged between 4 and 6, the 40 children from My Little Gems Preschool drove battery-operated toy cars around a track.
To make it more realistic, the children were given two $1 toy notes. 'Driver' who violate traffic rules were fined $1.
The children also learned how to cross roads carefully and understand some of the common traffic signs on Singapore's roads.
AIG Asia Pacific Insurance aims to teach 2,000 children how to be safe on the roads this year.
While My Little Gems Preschool is the first school to benefit from the 45-minute programme, AIG is targeting another 25 preschools in 2015.
Its chief executive Matt Harris said: "We've been operating in Singapore for over 70 years and we're committed to creating a safer road environment not only for our 150,000 insurance customers, but for the community as a whole."
