Dos and Don'ts of flying a Drone
With drones being the latest fancy gadget everyone wants, especially since it flies, rules and regulations have been put in place to make sure that it doesn't violate anybody's privacy and also that it is safe.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore has stated a list of regulations every drone owner should follow and also asked owners to apply for a permit.
Most drone owners buy it purely for the fun of flying a really cool looking machine or to take videos and photos.
But not everybody knows how to make full use of the drone and what you should avoid.
Just follow these Dos and Don'ts and you'll be fine.
DOs
- Attach a camera to it and take beautiful aerial shots. Be sure to check where you can and can't take pictures

- Take a really cool aerial selfie if you have a big group with you.
- Do use it to deliver something to someone living or working nearby. If Domino's can do it, why can't you?
- Do capture unique videos like how fireworks look from the top. (Though the life of your drone may be out of your control if you go too close.)
DON'Ts
- Don't use your drone to spy on people in high-rise buildings.
- Don't fly your drone with your batteries almost dying. It's not fun to have your control die on you and have no way to bring your drone down, except to wait for it to sky-dive.
- Don't use it to fight with animals. YOU WILL LOSE.
- Don't use it to annoy people. They don't care that you spent thousands of dollars one it.
- Don't fly indoors if you've never used it before. It'll hit the ceiling in three seconds.
