Intruder films accomplice beating granny, 62, in bizarre attack
One man kept kicking and punching the helpless granny, while the other filmed the attack on his phone.
The bizarre beating began after the men barged into the woman's Admiralty Road third-floor flat at about 2pm yesterday.
The 62-year-old woman's daughter, Ms Michelle, who declined to give her full name, told Lianhe Wanbao: "My 12-year-old daughter and nine-year-old son had just come home from school and before they could lock the door, the two men barged in.
"One of them pushed open the door and my children ran into the flat."
Ms Michelle was not home at the time.
Her mother, who collapsed after the attack, lost a tooth and suffered facial injuries.
They fled after the girl screamed, but not before one of them punched her on the arm.
She then phoned family members for help.
The children said they had seen the two men drinking alcohol at the staircase near the unit before the attack.
Lianhe Wanbao reported that the men did not ask for money and did not steal anything.
The police found a bottle of beer at the staircase landing.
ANGRY
Both the elderly woman and the young girl were sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
When relating the incident to reporters, the girl was angry. She told Lianhe Wanbao: "How can people do this?
"I can remember their appearances. One of them looked like a 20-year-old and was wearing a white T-shirt and brown pants.
"The other looked to be in his 40s and was wearing a black shirt and trousers. If I see them again, I'll definitely recognise them."
After some checks, X-rays and treatment, the elderly woman was discharged.
The family was not home when The New Paper visited the unit yesterday.
Neighbours who spoke to TNP said they were unaware of the incident.
Ms Michelle told Lianhe Wanbao that she hopes the culprits are caught with the help of CCTV footage from the camera at the floor's lift landing.
Police have classified the case as voluntarily causing hurt and criminal trespassing, and are investigating.
I can remember their appearances... Should I ever see them again, I'll definitely recognise them.
