MOE launches SG50 Lego set
The Ministry of Education (MOE) on Wednesday (May 13) launched a Lego set to commemorate SG50 at West Spring Primary School at Bukit Panjang Ring Road.
MOE will distribute 600,000 sets to students and teachers at all primary and secondary schools, special education schools, ITE, polytechnics and junior colleges.
Primary-level home-schoolers and full-time Madrasah students will also receive it.
The set will be distributed by National Day.
It can be bought after that and the price will be announced later.
The New Paper had reported last week how the set was being scalped online.
When asked about the sets being sold online, Education Minister Heng Swee Keat said he hoped students would not part with them as they were valuable.
He said: "This is such a unique keepsake. I encourage all students to keep this because it will be something very special that they can look back on."
