Sabah quake: Fandi's football academy pays tribute to student
The F-17 Academy has posted a tribute for Ameer Ryyan bin Mohd Adeed Sanjay, one of the Tanjong Katong Primary School students who died during the Sabah earthquake.
The 12-year-old was a student at the academy, which was started by football legend Fandi Ahmad.
Ameer was a "promising budding talent", an affable and well-behaved boy who was "loved by all who knew him", said Mr Nabil Yusoff, a spokesman for the academy.
"We cherish the many weekends we spent with him on the field and off it," said Mr Nabil . "Our heartfelt condolences go to the family during this difficult period. F-17 is in a state of mourning."
The academy had posted updates with the hashtag #prayforAR and #prayforAR7 on Facebook and Instagram on Saturday (June 6), when it was reported that Ameer was one of the students who were still unaccounted for.
Said Mr Nabil: "Our thoughts and prayers are also for the other deceased and missing children & teachers in Kinabalu. Our condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the Kinabalu tragedy."
