Two arrested for misusing boarding passes to buy iPhone 7
A man and woman have been arrested for allegedly misusing their boarding passes.
They were believed to have entered the transit area at Changi Airport on Sept 16 to purchase the newly released iPhone 7, without the intention of leaving Singapore.
Investigations are ongoing.
The iPhone 7 was released in Singapore on Sept 16.
The transit areas in Changi Airport are under the Protected Places of the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) reminded Singaporeans in its Facebook post that those who enter the transit areas in the airport with their boarding pass "should only be there for the purpose of travelling to their next destinations".
SPF said that since January, it has arrested 15 people in connection to offences under the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act.
Anyone who contravenes the act can be fined $1,000 or be jailed for up to two years or both.
