Bank executive charged with assaulting boy
A senior bank executive was charged in court yesterday with assaulting an 11-year-old boy at a condominium playground.
Ali Reza Broker, 48, was alleged to have done so on May 17 at Wing On Life Garden condominium in Bukit Timah Road.
He faces three charges of voluntarily causing hurt, harassment and using criminal force.
At about 6.45pm that day, Ali, a British citizen and Singapore permanent resident, had allegedly slapped the boy once on the back.
He is said to have used abusive words with the intention of causing distress to him, according to court papers. He is also accused of grabbing the boy's left arm and pulling him into a lift.
If found guilty, Ali can be jailed up to two years and fined up to $5,000.
Ali was present in court accompanied by a woman, believed to be his wife. He will be in court again next month.
