Car in wedding convoy involved in accident
It was supposed to be a happy occasion as they were part of a wedding convoy.
But one of their cars got involved in a collision with a van on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Sunday (Aug 28).
Unhappy with how the van driver allegedly conducted himself, the other drivers boxed him in.
The police were called in.
On Aug 28, at around 4:30pm, Facebook user Kaseng Lee posted photos of a collision involving a van and a car along the SLE.
In his post, Mr Lee said he was one of the drivers who was part of a wedding convoy.
He posted three photos which showed a fleet of cars near a van with one of them blocking the van to prevent its driver from driving off, along the side of the expressway.
The New Paper understands from one of the convoy drivers that they were heading towards the groom’s home. He declined to comment further.
TNP also understands the police arrived at the scene. No one was injured.
Mr Gopinath Menon, 70, who has been working as a traffic consultant for the past 15 years, said that stopping traffic on expressways could jeopardise the safety of other drivers.
He said: “On expressways where traffic flow is heavy and traffic speeds are high, stopping and waiting even on road shoulders are hazardous to themselves and to other motorists.
“Secondary accidents could occur.”
