Two cats found dead in Telok Blangah; One cat had its throat slit
One family’s routine of having breakfast together was interrupted by a grisly find on Friday (Jan 16).
Instead of seeing a cat sleeping in between two parked cars, the family of three found a cat with its throat slit.
Ms Taffy Ng, 38, a manager in the education industry, told The New Paper: “We saw the first cat lying on a grass verge of the carpark on our way to have breakfast at the coffee shop of near Mount Faber Green.
“We didn’t think anything of it at first because it could have died from natural causes.”
It was when they chanced upon a second dead cat in the same carpark that their suspicions were raised.
“My husband backtracked to the first cat to check because it’s quite unusual to see two dead cats so near each other,” she said.
Throat slit
“He came back and told me that not only was the first cat dead, it had its throat slit,” she added.
After breakfast, she decided to report the deaths to the Singapore Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
She said: “At first I didn’t want to take a picture to report because it is quite gory, but I want something to be done about this.
“When I went up close to take a picture, my hands were shaking!”
