Norwegian skydiver completes amazing Super Mario crochet after 6 years
Six years is a long time to be working on any single project - let alone something done on your own personal time.
For Mr Kjetil Nordin, however, that amount of time means nothing if he's working on something Super Mario related.
For the past 6 1/2 years, the Denmark-based Norwegian programmer has spent 800 hours - about 34 full days - working on a giant crochet of the first world map from Super Mario Bros 3.

In case you've never played the game, here's a screenshot - from the SNES version of Super Mario Bros 3 - of the map Mr Nordin is depicting:

Pretty spot on, isn't it?
According to NRK, the stunning piece of yarn tapestry measures in at 2.2m by 1.8m.
To ensure he didn't get sick of his immense undertaking, Nordin said he took "as many breaks" as he wanted to in order to spread things out.
He said: "The hardest thing has been to accept that it took such a long time.
"I've spent 800 hours crocheting and many hours researching and searching for the correct yarn."

Things didn't always go to plan, however,
After crocheting half of the moat around the castle, the 31-year-old discovered that he had picked the wrong colour.
"It was almost purple and very ugly, so I had to undo all of it," said Mr Nordin.
"That took an extra week."
When he's not making insanely intricate handiworks or hammering out lines of code, Mr Nordin enjoys dabbling in skydiving and has won the Norwegian Sky Diving team championship for the past six years, according to NRK.
