Two men charged with fruit seller's safe heist
Two men were on Thursday (Jan 7) charged with a daring break-in of a fruit wholesale shop.
Vietnamese nationals Ngo Quang Phuoc, 35, and Nguyen Van Nhat, 23, each face one count of housebreaking by night to commit theft.
The men are accused of entering the Pasir Panjang wholesale centre unit on Jan 5 at about 1.30am.
They are said to have climbed through a ceiling grille before making off with $500,000 in cash from a safe in the unit.
No plea has been taken from the men who have been remanded for another week to assist in investigations.
