6 emotional moments from the 2015 NDP theme song video
Unlike previous years, the reactions to this year's National Day theme song Our Singapore, composed and sung by Dick Lee, has been largely positive.
The video for the song was unveiled on Wednesday (May 27).
Directed by one of Singapore's most prolific filmmakers Eric Khoo, the video first explores the country's past and how the pioneer generation worked hard to create a nation for the future generation.
The video, which strongly invokes nostalgia, slowly turns into colour reflecting our progress in more recent times.
Below are some of the more emotional and poignant moments in the video.
Building something out of nothing
The throwback to the pioneer generation who worked hard to build "something out of nothing" given that the odds weren't in Singapore's favour at the time of independence.
If anyone asks you what Singapore means to you, here's an answer for you:
Our fighting spirit
Who could forget the the 1968 National Day Parade, where participants showed their resolve and fighting spirit by marching 8km in the heavy rain.
Malaysia Cup win in 1994
Singapore's historic win against Kelantan last week to win the Malaysian FA Cup took us back to the unforgettable Malaysia Cup win in 1994, which was seen in the video.
And our dreaming isn't done
Dick Lee reminds us that Singapore has not reached its peak yet. "The best is yet to come," sings Lee.
Singapore's progress
Towards the end of the video, we see just how far Singapore has come from its humble beginnings.
