WATCH: Pilot shocked as he finds stowaway cat in mid-flight
It seems Tom Cruise isn't the only one clinging onto aircraft for his dear life these days.
One young pilot's flight with his female companion around French Guiana was abruptly cut short when he discovered a cat had stowed away in his aircraft's wing.
Shortly after taking off, the cat crawled out its hiding spot and stuck its head into the cockpit.
The critter's presence was so unexpected that the pilot noticed he had an extra passenger on board in his peripheral vision only after the cat shook its head.
Cue an expression featuring pure, unbridled surprise.
Safe landing
Shortly after the discovery, the pilot found a place to land the plane and remove the cat safely.
Even on solid ground, the cat was so terrified that it froze on its perch and had to be coaxed out by the pilot.
The incident was recorded on an on-board camera, which was uploaded onto YouTube, presumably by the pilot himself.
According to the video's description, the joyride was meant to be a standard flight until the stowaway was discovered.
While the pilot admitted that while he was not sure if he had missed the feline flyer during his pre-flight checks or if it had hidden in the wing after that, he said the cat was fine and that she had become the mascot of the aviation club the pilot belonged to.
