A cool Coca-Cola proposal
Since time immemorial, men have been cracking their brains on how they can get their potential brides to say yes.
Take it from this guy: All you have to do is think about what your girlfriend loves most in the world (besides you) and incorporate it into your proposal.
Miss Adeline Kuah, a 31-year-old recruitment consultant, loves Coke so much, she can even drink it warm.
With this in mind, Mr Matthew Valath told The New Paper that he decided he would come up with a fitting proposal that he believed his girlfriend would love.
The plan?
Personalise a Coke can for her and get down on bended knee.
The 32-year-old equity investment cash management executive first discussed his proposal idea with his brother Mark who was the one who brought up the idea of incorporating the #shareacoke campaign into his plans.
Share a Coke is a multi-national campaign in which fans of the brand can personalise the cans and bottles of Coca-Cola and share them with family and friends.
For the proposal, Mr Valath printed two types of Coke cans - one with "Will you marry me" and the other with #mattadel.
Mr Valath said that he had started looking for the wedding ring (below, on Ms Kuah, second from left) in March and ended up getting one from JannPaul Jeweller at Far East Shopping Centre.
After securing special permission from Zouk Singapore for the proposal on June 13, a Saturday, Mr Valath went about preparing props and decorations to set the scene.
Envisioning a heart-shaped lights display that Ms Kuah could stand in, Mr Valath had one custom-made in May.
Then with the help of his brother, Mr Valath started printing around 90 Polaroid-sized pictures that he had taken in the past with Ms Kuah and painstakingly cut them out piece by piece.
Now, how did he get his girlfriend to the proposal site while keeping his plan a surprise?
He told her to turn up at Zouk for his brother's supposed 30th birthday.
On June 13, Mr Valath also sought the help of his friends who helped him transport 100 balloons to Zouk.
While Mr Valath's friends were busy arranging the heart-shaped lights display, hanging the pictures and arranging the Coke cans and balloons, Ms Kuah's friends were tasked with distracting her till "it was time".
Ms Kuah's sister, Angeline, took their parents to Zouk as well.
Ms Kuah had told Mr Valath before that she would want her parents to be present at her marriage proposal.

Mr Valath was ecstatic that he had made his bride-to-be very happy.
He said: "The day after, scrolling through some of the pictures that were taken along with some clips that were shot, she actually teared up with happiness.
"She was very touched by the amount of effort that was put into (the proposal).
"Of course that felt really nice, hearing it from her."
The couple are looking at early November next year for their wedding date.

3. Snow White and the seven dwarves
A man fulfilled his girlfriend’s dream of being a princess by re-enacting the classic Snow White fairy tale on a beach.
Seven of the couple’s friends got into dwarf costumes.
The "prince" gave "Snow White" the “life-saving” kiss before popping the question.
