New Face 2015: Behind The Scenes
The New Paper New Face 2015 finalists had their third photo shoot dressed in New Look apparel.
This shoot will be used in their individual spreads, which will begin on Aug 24.
Despite the pressure, the finalists have grown more comfortable since their first beauty shoot.
Finalist Jessica Goh, 15, said: “I have become less nervous and I’m more confident. Before, I was a bit shaky and I didn’t know what to do.”
The youthful vibe behind the scenes also helped the girls relax.
Jessica, a student at CHIJ Saint Theresa’s Convent, added: “We are supposed to enjoy ourselves in the shoot and smile and be happy. I had lots of fun.”
Ischelle Ong, 21, added: “The photographer and crew are really encouraging, which is good because it helps make us more confident. I really liked the vibe on set.”
The student at Singapore Institute of Management wore a patterned pink, blue and purple bodycon dress matched with a large statement necklace.
Ischelle said: “I like the New Look clothes because they’re very bright and cheerful. I’m very tan, so bright colours suit me nicely.”
However it was her shoes that gave her a little bit of trouble during the shoot, as she found it difficult to stand straight with the pointed fronts.
“They wanted me to close then open my eyes for a shot, but the moment I opened my eyes I would lose my balance,” she said.
Sherine Tan, 25, dressed in a bright pink bodycon dress, also tried something different for this shoot.
“I wanted to have my back to the camera and then turn to the front while smiling, so I would be in motion and then pause for the shot,” Sherine, an auditor, explained.
Jessica’s idea worked and it resulted in some great shots.
Said Jessica: “ I feel very accomplished and I’m excited for the next shoot.”
