Celebrate National Day with our NDP-themed playlists
All geared up for the nation's 51st birthday celebrations next week?
We've specially curated three Spotify playlists to get you in the spirit for the occasion.
NDP2016: So Singapore is sure to unleash the patriot in you, comprising familiar National Day songs like this year's Tomorrow's Here Today by 53A as well as memorable favourites like Kit Chan's Home, Stefanie Sun's We Will Get There and Electrico's What Do You See.
The playlist not only includes the standard fare, but also highlights lesser known gems that'll make you proud to live on this little red dot. Some highlights: Sound of Singapore by Marco Iodice takes you through everyday sounds around our island while Dick Lee's Fried Rice Paradise and TheLionCityBoy's Put Your City On are as Singaporean as it gets.
Whatever your preferences might be, this one will make you proud to call Singapore home.
Check out our three Singapore-themed playlists here.
And while we're on the topic of national pride, we also take the opportunity celebrate our talents in the local music industry, both old and new, with two playlists - NDP2016: Singapore #throwback and NDP2016: Singapore Now. Expect 60s legends like Naomi & The Boys, superstar diva Anita Sarawak, 90s indie folk-rock act Humpback Oak, pop-folk singer Gentle Bones, indie band Pleasantry, electronic act Disco Hue, rapper Shigga Shay and so much more.
So sit back and enjoy your trip down memory lane.
There are many more local gems not on these playlists - unfortunately, not all of them are on Spotify. If you have more songs to share with us and other TNP readers, we welcome you to write in to us at tnponline@sph.com.sg, or to message us on Facebook.
