Miss Universe Singapore 2016: Tanisha Khan
At only 18, Tanisha is the youngest finalist.
The Temasek Polytechnic student, who's pursuing a diploma in business, scored five distinctions for her N levels and was a finalist of The New Paper New Face last year.
"Every time I make my parents proud, I feel a sense of accomplishment," she said.
Which influential living person would you like to meet?
(Pakistani activist) Malala Yousafzai. She is such a loving, strong and motivating human being.
Regardless of the challenges and obstacles, she still managed to fight for the rights of females to be educated.
What is one food you cannot resist?
Kale chips. I usually bake my own. I season them with olive oil, sea salt, garlic powder and chilli flakes for flavour, then I devour them and indulge in the guilt-free snack.
How does it feel to be the youngest top-15 MUS finalist?
Age doesn't matter to me - it's more about the experience and having fun. I am so honoured, however.
MUS is the perfect platform for me to begin, especially at such a young age. The others do baby me because I am 18.
Tell us more about your interest in football.
I love watching football, be it the English Premier League, Champions League or La Liga.
I wanted to pick up a sporty co-curricular activity in poly and the only sport that I was familiar with was football because I watch it with my brother.
I am now training with the Temasek Polytechnic female football team and play futsal with friends.
Who is your favourite footballer?
Cristiano Ronaldo (of Real Madrid). His skills are incredible... His love and passion for the sport is tremendous.
