Miss Universe Singapore finalists get whiter, brighter smile from Orchard Scotts Dental
Growing up with an overbite, Miss Universe Singapore (MUS) 2018 finalist Sushil Como had braces in school.
With the Aug 31 MUS finale drawing near, the financial accountant ensures that her pearly whites are in tip-top condition with the take-home teeth whitening kit she received from Orchard Scotts Dental.
Last month, 12 of the top 15 MUS hopefuls visited the aesthetic dental clinic at Liat Towers.
Orchard Scotts Dental is back for the ninth year as one of the official sponsors for MUS 2018.
Orchard Scotts Dental have been providing Invisalign services since 2007. These clear aligners act as a corrective procedure that works like braces.
As the name suggests, it is nearly invisible.
Miss Como, 25, told The New Paper that she wore braces for almost four years from the age of 10 and it gave her the confidence she needed.
She said: "But silly me, I didn't wear my retainers religiously, so my bottom teeth shifted and I had to wear braces again in polytechnic on my bottom row of teeth for 10 more months."
Leading up to the finale, Miss Como cheerfully added that she is "excited" to incorporate the teeth whitening kit into her daily routine.
For best results, Orchard Scotts Dental's principal dentist Dr Ronnie Yap said it should be used daily for about an hour.
He said: "When you have a nice smile, it is not just about vanity, but it also means radiating more confidence. The smile is also the centre of the facial expression, so it shows one's warmth and sincerity as well."
Miss Como said: "I have kept up with the routine of wearing the kit almost daily, and I do see a difference."
Miss Nicol Hunt, a 25-year-old photographer, also vouches for it.
She said: "When I did teeth whitening a few months ago, I had a pretty bad experience. I didn't realise I had very sensitive teeth, to the extent that I had to get painkillers.
"But the kit that Orchard Scotts Dental gave me was something less strong due to my sensitive teeth, and so far there has been no sensitivity (issue). My teeth also look whiter and healthier now." - TATIANA MOHAMAD ROSLI
