8 things that put Paul Pogba's £100m transfer fee into context
Nothing is official yet, but Paul Pogba looks almost certain to become the world's first £100 million ($178.2 million) footballer should he opt to leave Juventus for Manchester United this summer.
While the Red Devils have acted swiftly to usher in three new players to kickstart new manager Jose Mourinho's reign, the English club have been made to wait by the Bianconeri, who are not keen to let their prized French midfielder leave without a fight.
Any final amount for Pogba's services looks all but sure to eclipse the world record £85m fee that Real Madrid, who are also reportedly interested in the Frenchman, forked out to Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale in 2013.
If you're still flailing to comprehend how much money United are willing to pay for a player whom they let go for free in 2012, here's a breakdown of what £100m can buy you to put things into perspective...
(For quick reference, £100m=S$178.2m=US$131.2m=199.4m euros)
1) 1 Airbus A321neo airliner (US$125.7m)

Pogba's reported transfer fee might not be enough to buy you a quarter of an A380, but £100m could certainly land you its smaller cousin the A321neo.
The A321 is the largest of Airbus' A320 family of aircraft and can carry up to 240 passengers.
2) 4 F15-E Strike Eagle jets (US$31.1m each)

While military budgets are used to huge numbers being thrown about, some air force generals might certainly appreciate having spare change like Pogba's transfer fee lying around to shore up their squadrons.
After all, the amount that could be spent on Pogba would be enough to procure four F15-E Strike Eagles from the United States.
Fearsome.
3) 7 AgustaWestland AW101 VVIP helicopters (16.2m euros each)

When it comes to personal helicopters, few come close to the luxury aboard an AgustaWestland AW101 VVIP transport chopper - the hint is the extra 'V' attached to VIP.
If United opted against signing Pogba, they could use the money on a fleet of seven AW101 VVIPs to ferry their stars around.
4) 22 Leopard 2 battle tanks (US$5.74m each)

Pogba has a reputation for being an all-action midfield general who will inject some much needed steel and dynamism into Jose Mourinho's engine room.
His supposed transfer fee would certainly do the same for a real life battlefield as it can fund the purchase of 22 Leopard 2 main battle tanks.
5) 68 Lamborghini Centenario supercars (1.75m euros each)

Here's a language that footballers would understand - fast cars.
While £100m could afford to buy you 68 of Lamborghini's latest Centenario supercars, it just won't be possible as the Italian car-maker has announced plans of a limited production run of just 40 units.
6) 437 Birkin bags (US$300,168 each)
We're not just talking about any old Birkin here.
Back in May, a white diamond-encrusted crocodile skin Hermes handbag made the headlines when it was auctioned off in Hong Kong for US$300,168.
However, that amount is peanuts compared to the Pogba transfer fee, which could pay for the same bag 437 times over.
Stop drooling, ladies.
7) 10,480 nights at MBS' Chairman Suite ($17,000 per night)

When it comes to living the extravagant life in Singapore, few places come close to Marina Bay Sands.
In MBS itself, nothing beats the hotel's two massive Chairman Suites - 629 sq m of pure luxury which will set you back a cool $17,000 a night.
With Pogba's £100m transfer fee, however, you could put up at MBS for 10,480 nights, which equates to more than 28 years.
That's one long (and lavish) staycation.
8) 32.5 million servings of Adam Road nasi lemak ($5.50 per plate)

Singaporeans are pretty much united in their love for nasi lemak.
And few would argue against Adam Road Food Centre's famous Selera Rasa, whose most expensive combo is the Royal Rumble that costs $5.50 a plate.
With that in mind, £100m could score you more than 32.5 million servings of nasi lemak - more than enough plates to feed Singapore five times over.
If you didn't think that Pogba fee was obscene and insane before this, the thought of eating that much nasi lemak - no matter how awesome it might be - should make you sick enough to think that way.
