8 things that put Paul Pogba's £100m transfer fee into context

Nothing is official yet, but Paul Pogba looks almost certain to become the world's first £100 million ($178.2 million) footballer should he opt to leave Juventus for Manchester United this summer.

While the Red Devils have acted swiftly to usher in three new players to kickstart new manager Jose Mourinho's reign, the English club have been made to wait by the Bianconeri, who are not keen to let their prized French midfielder leave without a fight.

Any final amount for Pogba's services looks all but sure to eclipse the world record £85m fee that Real Madrid, who are also reportedly interested in the Frenchman, forked out to Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale in 2013.
