Dollah surprised by Malaysia's win over Vietnam
His team might have ripped up the form book to stun favourites Vietnam with a 4-2 win in Hanoi and progress to the Suzuki Cup final, but Malaysia coach Dollah Salleh has admitted that he still isn't sure how they did it.
Trailing 1-2 after the first leg in Kuala Lumpur, the Tigers produced a gutsy display as they blitzed Vietnam on their home pitch to win the two-legged semi-final 5-4 on aggregate.
Despite his side's heroics, Dollah was at a loss to explain how his side overcame the hosts as he said: "I was surprised we beat the Vietnam defence with crosses. I think two or three goals came from crosses."
Best against hosts
In this tournament, Malaysia have produced some of their best performances against host nations.
Apart from their win in Vietnam, the Tigers were excellent in their 3-1 victory over Singapore at the National Stadium which saw them qualify for the semi-finals.
Dollah will be looking for more of the same when Malaysia travel to Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok for the first leg of the final against Thailand on Dec 17.
When asked if his team performed better away from home, the former Malaysian international said: "Maybe I think. We produce results away.
"We play Bangkok first then Shah Alam. Hopefully we can do something at home."
