Kiatisuk: We reached the final for Adisak
Adisak Karisorn's suspension gave Thailand added motivation to reach the AFF Suzuki Cup final, according to head coach Kiatisuk Senamuang.
The War Elephants striker received a red card during their first-leg clash at the Rizal Memorial Stadium which ended in a goallees draw, ruling him out for the return leg in Bangkok.
In spite of his absence, the Thais romped to an impressive 3-0 triumph over the Azkals at the Rajamangala Stadium on Wednesday.
Kiatisuk has now revealed that his side wanted to win to ensure their teammate's tournament didn't end in Manilla.
The former Thai international striker said: "We went to the field to try and get the win and go to the final. We wanted to support Adisak.
"He understands he made a mistake in the last match. He wants to come back and play and show the fans (what he is capable of).
"He has confidence - he is still training morning and afternoon and waiting for the final game."
Fired up
With Adisak fired up for the final, Kiatisuk isn't concerned by who his country will face in the final.
Kiatisuk said: "I think Vietnam and Malaysia are both very strong and we respect them.
"I do not care who comes to the final (as) for us the most important thing is we try to win and get the Cup."
