Man United scout fired over racist comments
Manchester United have sacked a member of their European scouting team after he posted racist comments on social media.
Torben Aakjaer, a Dane previously employed by Bundesliga side Hamburg, had his contract terminated by United after the Old Trafford outfit learnt of his offensive posts on Facebook through The Guardian newspaper.
The derogatory comments, which have since been deleted, were aimed at eastern Europeans and Muslims.
Following an inquiry headed by chief exeuctive Ed Woodward which led to Aakjaer's termination, United released a statement which read: "The club received the evidence from The Guardian, launched an immediate investigation into the matter and has terminated our association with Mr Aakjaer.
"Manchester United is an inclusive organisation and will not tolerate this sort of behaviour."
