WATCH: Ronaldo goes undercover as a homeless street performer in Madrid, fools everyone
Cristiano Ronaldo may not be everyone's cup of tea, but a video of him disguised as a homeless man will certainly warm even the chilliest of hearts.
The Real Madrid forward ditched his superstar looks and threads as he took to the streets of the Spanish capital dressed as a dishevelled street performer – complete with scruffy beard and hair as well as a fat suit (well, sorta).
And no one recognised him at all.
In fact, most people just gave short shrift to what they perceived to be a bum with a football and his dog.
One woman even rejected his advances when he asked for her number (boy she must be regretting it now...).
Of course, his skill with the ball attracted a few cameras while a few people actually indulged homeless Ronnie.
Eventually, a young boy named Nicolas came along.
Once they're done playing, Ronaldo asks the boy his name, signs the ball for him and then conducts the big reveal.
On realising just who they had been ignoring all this while, the indifferent crowd lets out a gasp of surprise before turning into a Ronaldo-crazy mob.
Amazing scenes.
Even though Ronaldo's stint as a hobo was part of his partnership with headphones brand ROC by Monster, it didn't stop fans from praising the Portuguese flyer on his Facebook page.
Just goes to show that appearances clearly aren't everything.
Of course, Ronaldo isn't the first athlete to disguise himself as a regular old joe in a viral video.
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving took to the basketball courts of New Jersey disguised as an old man known as Uncle Drew for Pepsi Max in 2012.
Mexican company Coppel did their own version of Uncle Drew in 2014, teaming up with world football freestyle champion Sean Garnier to create Abuelo (Spanish for grandpa) Memo.
