Gold for Singapore women's floorball team
Floorball favourites Singapore almost had the inaugural SEA Games champions title taken from them.
The more experienced hosts were expected to deliver the title and they did.
But it was no easy feat.
The tough and thrilling fight against Thailand ended in a 3-3 deadlock, with no additional goals scored even in 10 minutes of sudden death extra time at ITE College Central on Sunday (June 14).
It went down to penalty shots, where Singapore scored two out of five shots to take gold.
Jill Quek put in the first goal and Natalia Wee followed with another.
Fariza Begum Mohamed Zabir was the hero of the day, drawing thunderous applause from the home crowd after keeping out all but one of the Thai's penalty shots.
