Great moments, great prizes
It began 26 years ago when he picked up his uncle's copy of Shoot magazine.
Alex Low, 34, recalled: "Back when we couldn't watch the matches on TV, all we had were magazines."
On that fateful day, he saw pictures of Liverpool FC for the first time. And he has been a Reds fan since then.
The personal trainer has also stuck with The New Paper for about 18 years, in particular its football coverage.
He said: "The columns are quite interesting, with the reviews and analysis."
Wanting to win a Liverpool FC football signed by the team, he gave this week's TNP Liverpool FC Rocks Contest a shot.
There was no dispute for his favourite Liverpool moment - their tenacious win against AC Milan at the 2005 Champions League final.
All seemed lost at half time with Milan leading 3-0, but the Reds fought back in the second half and eventually won in a penalty shoot-out.
"This has taught me a precious lesson in life, never give up and just do your best," he wrote.
His entry won him his desired football, $100 worth of shopping vouchers and a goodie bag.
While Low has been a long-time TNP reader, Chow Ngai Thai has been reading the paper for only about a year.
SECOND PRIZE
The 21-year-old, who clinched the second prize, has been a Liverpool fan since he was seven and reads TNP's sports pages.
He loved playing football as a boy and watching the likes of Michael Owen on television further stoked his passion for the sport.
His most-cherished Liverpool moment was when captain Steven Gerrard led a team huddle after their 3-2 win over Manchester City last month.
"It was a rallying cry, not only to the players but also the fans," wrote Chow, who won a limited edition CashCard set and a goodie bag.
