20 Harley-Davidson owners turn up to watch Avengers
20 bikers ride their Dark Custom Harley-Davidson to private screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron
Riding her dream bike, a Dark Custom Harley-Davidson, baker and artist Jaster Ngui set off from the showroom at Alexandra Road with 19 other riders to a private screening of The Avengers: Age of Ultron on Monday.
Miss Ngui, whose bike costs $38,000, took the day off for the event at Shaw Theatres Lido.
The owner of a pet bakery got her riding licence with her fiancé just three months ago. Both bought their bikes shortly after.
The 36-year-old was one of 20 guests - all owners of Harley-Davidson's Dark Custom - invited by Harley-Davidson to the Disney event, which included a screening of the movie.
The new film features Harley-Davidson's Street 750 and Project Livewire bikes.
The Dark Custom motorbike has a raw, stripped-down look and is highly customisable.
"The Harley is my dream bike. I've been wanting it for a long time. The Dark Custom model has so much attitude," said Miss Ngui, a Marvel Comics fan.
Another biker, Mr Preem Kumar Ramachandran, said the movie event was a chance for his riding group to get together.
The 35-year-old senior engineer and seven to 10 other riders go on weekly group rides.
The event, which began with bikers setting off from Harley Davidson's showroom at 5.45pm on Monday, also attracted cosplayers who dressed up as Marvel comic characters, including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man and Quicksilver.
CAPTAIN AMERICA
One of them, who wanted to be known only as Mr Jeong, went as Captain America. He said he had been waiting for the movie since its first instalment and was more than happy to be at the event.
"The event is a great collaboration between Disney and Harley-Davidson. Since not everyone can afford a Harley-Davidson, it is a great chance to be able to pose with one," he said.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be out in cinemas tomorrow.
