School of frock: Of diplomacy and dresses
Who would've thought the past week's fashion action was happening mostly at the White House where the gown game was on point, says JEANMARIE TAN
HANNAH DAVIS (A+)
WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS' ASSOCIATION DINNER IN WASHINGTON
Gown: Georges Chakra
Shoes: Guiseppe Zanotti
Sorry fellas, but I much prefer the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl clothed than in a barely-there bikini. This blue-green, one-shoulder creation is an outstanding look for a red carpet rookie. Flawless from head to toe.
CHRISSY TEIGEN (A-)
WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS' ASSOCIATION DINNER IN WASHINGTON
Gown: Zuhair Murad
Shoes: Guiseppe Zanotti
Davis' leg-flashing Sports Illustrated peer one-ups her in the hip-high slit department - and also emerges a winner. We're used to this type of glittery, elaborately embellished and sheer-bodice style from Murad and also Elie Saab season after season, but I for one will never tire of it.
CIARA (A-)
STATE DINNER IN HONOUR OF JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER SHINZO ABE IN WASHINGTON
Gown: Walter Mendez
Side boob at the White House? Now that's just nitpicking when Ciara looks this glam in her champagne-hued silky halter gown.
ASHLEY JUDD (C)
WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS' ASSOCIATION DINNER IN WASHINGTON
Gown: Badgley Mischka
There's always bound to be that one celeb at this annual political event who's donning something wildly inappropriate for the occasion. Congrats, Judd, for being this year's offender. With a potted plant on her head and a low-hanging strapless, lavender watercolour print chiffon dress that threatened to slip down at any moment, she probably thought she was invited to President Obama's pool party.
TYRA BANKS (D)
DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS IN LOS ANGELES
Jumpsuit: Bryan Hearns
Shoes: Gianvito Rossi
Let's get - in Banks' words - fiercely real here: Jumpsuits will never be her friends. Acceptance is the first step to recovery. Those mesh stripes and sharp shoulders complement her sassy pixie cut, but that crotch area is every woman's nightmare.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA (F)
THE VOICE SEASON 8 RED CARPET EVENT IN LOS ANGELES
Outfit: Not known
If you're wondering what Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose's ageing trailer trash groupies could possibly look like now, Aguilera has the answer.
WHO WORE IT BETTER?
Dawson's colour-blocked Roksanda creation with its flaccid draping was a big fat fail for me, landing her at the bottom of the pile a few weeks ago. Marling, on the other hand, makes her sleeker, more subtle version soar.

MOST IMPROVED
SALMA HAYEK
Daytime Hayek, sporting a dated floral design, is a frumpy desperate housewife in need of a makeover. Nighttime Hayek evidently became the recipient of some magical fairy dust, in a breathtaking embroidered grey ballgown fit for a queen.
PHOTO CALL FOR THE PROPHET IN BEIRUT, LEBANON, APRIL 27

HONOURABLE MAN-TION
MARK RUFFALO
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON SCREENING IN NEW YORK CITY
Suit: Billy Reid
Ruffalo aka Bruce Banner/Hulk has been overshadowed by his prettier Avengers co-stars on the press tour, but he's finally caught my eye with his "silver fox" ensemble. The big green guy proves he can do shades of grey pretty well.

"The scariest thing that I witness every time are the girls with the nipple tassels. I don’t get it. I’m not understanding why you’re just wearing bikini bottoms, nipple tassels and thigh-highs. That is a very incomplete outfit."
- US actress Bella Thorne, 17, saying she’s not a fan of some raunchy Coachella styles
