I haven't watched a single episode of Outlander and already its Irish leading lady has captured my attention. The royal purple hue is stunning against her pale skin and raven hair, and the striped netted peekaboo panel keeps things interesting. Her kindred spirit lookalike Dita Von Teese would be proud.

Yes, Lily James, we know your star is on the rise. No need to get all literal about it. That aside, I have nothing against this playful constellation print minidress. Even Cinderella needs a break from ball gowns every now and then.

Speaking of seeing stars, Brewster has adorned herself with lots of them. Starfish, to be precise. Against dirty grey tulle and a lining that should've gone all the way to her feet. I just want to toss her back into the ocean.

Now this is disappointing. Surely the red carpet rebel could've come up with something edgier than a typical maroon off-the-shoulder lace corset gown? It's stuffy, ageing and she looks like she can't even exhale in it. Ship this off to Helen Mirren.

Excessive colourblocking is a very real problem, my friends. Dawson's draped-panel crepe number is pretty obnoxious on its own, but adding matchy-matchy shoes and clutch when neutral accessories would've sufficed makes my eyes want to take a nap. We're finally looking at you, Ms Dawson, but we've got to turn away now.

But I reject midriff-baring, turned-up collars and try-hard sexiness in general - even on a former Pussycat Doll. Kardashian's surprisingly modest and chic all-black ensemble gives her look a slimming effect and an easy win.

Funny how ordinary Pinto looks in no-frills black on black separates. Movie stars, give me those frills! My pleas weren't in vain, as she got off her butt and gussied up in a charming lilac frock, featuring a lace yoke and floral appliques, that every girl would want in her wardrobe.
