Del Toro to star in Star Wars sequel
Benicio Del Toro has snagged himself one of the coolest gigs in town.
The 48-year-old Puerto Rican actor finally confirmed to Spanish radio station RAC 1 that he'll be starring in the Star Wars: Episode VIII movie - a month after rumours of his involvement surfaced in August.
"Star Wars is coming up," said Del Toro, who will next be seen in the thriller Sicario, opening here Sept 17.
Del Toro added that filming will commence next March, though he stopped short of confirming if he's playing the villain.
The sequel to Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, which opens here Dec 18, will be directed by Rian Johnson.
