WATCH: Guardians of the Galaxy in 3 minutes, old school gaming style
What happens when you boil down last year's Guardians of the Galaxy into three minutes, keeping the hit movie's best moments while re-animating it in glorious retro gaming style?
You get this little gem of a video from CineFix's 8 Bit Cinema YouTube playlist.
Using sprites that look like they came straight out from the original Mega Man games (an insanely difficult but popular series of video games that made its debut on Nintendo's NES system in 1987, in case you're too much of a whippersnapper to know), the short film pretty much nails Marvel's surprise box office hit.
From Peter Quill's introduction as Star Lord to the Guardians' elaborate prison escape to the grand stand-off at the end, animator David Dutton has done an excellent job at recapping the movie from start to finish while Henry Dutton provides some rocking MIDI versions of the flick's nostalgic oldies soundtrack.
And yes, dancing Groot is included.
Needless to say, if you haven't caught the movie yet and don't want to be spoiled, don't click the movie above.
If you don't mind or are looking to relive Guardians in a quick retro-gaming style fix, then watch away!
