Local actress Carole Lin gives birth to baby girl
After months of waiting in eager anticipation, local actress Carole Lin finally welcomed her first child on Wednesday (August 19).
Baby girl Brooklyn was born on Wednesday evening, weighing a healthy 3kg.
It was a proud moment for the 42-year-old who had previously been told by her gynaecologist that she might have a more difficult time conceiving as she was in her 40s.
Lin — who is married to businessman David Lim, 39, — announced that her daughter, Brooklyn Lim, had to be delivered via C-section due to low amniotic fluid, but assured fans that she was recovering well.
In June, Lin, who was then into her seventh month of pregnancy, told The New Paper that she wanted to give birth without epidural.
She said: "A drug-free delivery is best for our child and I am fortunate enough to be able to do this for her."
"A check with the gynae has shown that I can give birth without epidural as I meet the conditions such as my daughter being positioned optimally."
But Lin remains thankful even though her plans didn't go quite as expected.
The Star Award-winning actress said in a statement that she enjoyed a smooth pregnancy, which culminated in the birth of her "beautiful" and "healthy" child at Mount Elizabeth hospital.
Said Lin: "We have been eagerly looking forward to embarking on the special journey, and are so happy that little Brooklyn is finally here."
"She is such a blessing to us and we hope that she will be a blessing to the people around her as well."
