School of frock: The fabulous Fan Bingbing
Whenever Fan Bingbing is in the house, nobody can touch her
FAN BINGBING (A-)
Shanghai International Film Festival In Shanghai
Gown: Stephane Rolland
This is a woman who takes dressing up very, very seriously - and for that, I am eternally grateful. This theatrical burgundy velvet Rolland creation isn't his best, but it's good enough to make everyone else on this list look embarrassingly basic.
SELENA GOMEZ (C)
Hotel Transylvania 2 photocall in Cancun, Mexico
Top and skirt: Katie Ermilio
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Did anyone lose a skanky bridesmaid on the way to a Vegas chapel? Here's yet another way Gomez tries to tell the world she's not 14 anymore.
MILEY CYRUS (C)
amfAR Inspiration Gala New York in New York City
Gown: Moschino
Shoes: Dr. Martens
I could've got on board Cyrus' kitschy costume because she doesn't look half bad, but she had to ruin it with the
ridiculous side-braided mohawk. So I guess I don't ''heart'' this after all.
TARAJI P HENSON (C)
Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco
Dress: Valentino
Shoes: Gianvito Rossi
Someone needs to stop shopping in the children's section. I can totally see this cute embellished babydoll frock on Kiernan Shipka, Elle Fanning or Chloe Moretz, but on a 44-year-old woman, it's just a joke. Classic case of not dressing your age - or shape.
ZOE SALDANA (D)
Premiere of Infinitely Polar Bear in Los Angeles
Dress: Louis Vuitton
Shoes: Kurt Geiger
I get it. You have twin babies. You're sleep-deprived. You don't give a damn about pretty clothes any more when all you really want is to be in bed, naked and nursing. Been there, done that. So Saldana gets one free pass for this dreary choice - but that's it!
ANJA RUBIK (F)
amfAR Inspiration Gala New York in New York City
Gown: Emilio Pucci
Rubik needs to cough up some compensation because my eyeballs have been assaulted by this dreadful psychedelic print and I'm having hallucinations about scorpions. The dress should really come with those "do not drive or operate heavy machinery" warnings. It's basic red carpet safety.
WHO WORE IT BETTER?

ODEYA RUSH
Goosebumps Photocall in Cancun, Mexico, June 12
Honestly, the Peter Pilotto swirl of appliques, patterns and embellishments isn't the most attractive. But I'll take the gown version over the dress for its neat symmetry. Jacobs' elegant styling also helps the weirdness go down a little easier.
MOST IMPROVED
CARA DELEVINGNE
The British supermodel is not a gown girl. Put her in anything remotely feminine or floaty - like this simple white Grecian get-up - and she goes from edgy to plain. So I was glad to see her return to form a month later, in an interesting mix of mesh, velvet and houndstooth that show off her best assets. Fierce girl, fierce make-up, fierce dress.

Paper Towns Photocall in Berlin, June 16

SPECIAL MAN-TION
BRAD GORESKI
amfAR Inspiration Gala New York in New York City
Jacket: DSquared2
I applaud guys who are brave enough to opt for non-traditional colours for their formal wear and celebrity stylist Goreski doesn't disappoint. Seriously, that salmon velvet tuxedo jacket is delicious.
The whole point of an actress having a stylist is so you can make more money, or more people want to hire you, or the brand that you're wearing is making more money because it's driving sales. It's all wrapped up in money - it's Hollywood - we're not at church.
