Woman found on road after heated argument
From a distance, he saw a woman lying motionless on the road.
A short distance behind her was a black car, with its headlights switched on.
Mr Wong Chun Hong told The New Paper: "I thought, 'Oh no, did she get hit by the car?'"
Worried, the taxi driver, who was riding a bicycle, approached the woman. When he got to her, the police arrived.
Mr Wong, 39, said: "It turned out that the car driver was a Good Samaritan.
"I think he parked his car behind the lady and turned on the hazard lights so that the other cars wouldn't hit her. He drove away after the ambulance arrived."
The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Monday on East Coast Park Service Road.
According to Chinese evening daily Shin Min Daily News, the woman, 33, is believed to have had a heated quarrel and a fight with her boyfriend in a van earlier.
The man later claimed she had hit him and even tossed his mobile phone out of the van window.
When she got out of the vehicle, he claimed he left her by the roadside and drove away.
SILENT, STILL
Mr Wong said she must have remained on the ground for about 15 minutes. All that time, she was completely silent and still.
"She didn't move at all. I thought she had died," said Mr Wong.
"Only when the ambulance arrived did she shout that she was in pain.
"The paramedics carefully flipped her over and placed her on a stretcher and into the ambulance."
He said that before the ambulance arrived, a van had driven up to the scene and was stopped by the police.
A man who looked to be in his 30s stepped out and was questioned.
The Malaysian, who works as a courier, is believed to be the woman's boyfriend, Shin Min reported.
Police said that when they arrived, they established that a case of voluntarily causing hurt had occurred.
The woman was taken conscious to Changi General Hospital.
