Dengue cases have been on the rise since the turn of the year.
In the week of Jan 10 to Jan 16, 628 cases were reported – the highest weekly figure in over a year.
A 47-year-old Singaporean man succumbed to the dengue virus last week, becoming the first to die from dengue this year.
The man had been living in Marsiling, in an area within an active 10-case dengue cluster, according to the National Environment Agency.
Four people died from dengue last year.
